What can I expect at my first chiropractic visit?

We’ll talk about what brought you in, review your health history, and do an exam.

Then we’ll explain what we found, go over your care options, and give you time to ask questions.

Treatment begins at your first visit, and we choose the approach based on what we find during your exam.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring a copy of your insurance card, the completed patient forms you can download from this section, and any relevant blood work results or diagnostic reports, including MRI and X-ray reports.

If you’re unable to download the forms, please arrive 15–20 minutes early to complete them at the office.

Wear clothes you can move and stretch comfortably in.

Do you accept my insurance, and can you check my benefits before I come in?

Call us with the name of your insurance company and your specific plan. We can help you check whether we’re in-network and review your chiropractic benefits before your first visit. Your insurer determines final coverage and what you’ll owe when it processes your claim.

What if I’m nervous about chiropractic adjustments?

Tell us what you’re worried about, even if it’s just one area you’d prefer we avoid. We’ll explain your options before starting.

Depending on your exam and preferences, your care may include hands-on muscle work, assisted stretching, or therapeutic exercises.

Do you offer chiropractic care during pregnancy and after delivery?

YES! We offer prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care.

During pregnancy, we use a specialized table with a section that lowers to make room for your belly.

We adapt your visits based on how you’re feeling, your stage of pregnancy, or your recovery after delivery.

Can I book one-on-one Pilates separately from chiropractic care?

To book a private, one-on-one Pilates session, call Susan McGurn directly at 516-587-1111. For more information, visit the Pilates section of our website.
